thinkstep Partners with Urjanet to Add Built-In Energy and Utility Data to its Sustainability Performance Management Software

New automated interface will save customers time and money

ATLANTA and STUTTGART, GERMANY — May 19, 2015 — thinkstep, the global leader in sustainability performance management software, data and services, and Urjanet, the world’s leading provider of automated utility data, today announced a strategic partnership. Working together, the companies will provide thinkstep customers with an out-of-the-box utility bill and interval data feed for energy and water consumption without the need for any programming or customization.

The Energy and EHS management suites on the thinkstep platform are used by corporations worldwide to analyze usage metrics and plan performance KPIs for water, energy and other environmental resources. By partnering with Urjanet, thinkstep has broad coverage of automated utility data in North America and Europe, with access to accounts at 1,700 utility providers. The newly created Urjanet/thinkstep integration gives customers access to their latest consumption data without the need for manual data entry, spreadsheet upload or back-end integration with existing IT systems.

“Energy management only starts to deliver value when firms can confidently make decisions and undertake initiatives to drive operational performance improvements to reduce energy consumption and costs,” says David Metcalfe, CEO & Co-Founder of Verdantix. “Firms need high-quality granular data to inform energy management strategies and investment decisions, however many firms are still struggling to access accurate data in a timely manner.”

“Prior to our partnership and technology integration with Urjanet, most of our customers manually input energy data or uploaded spreadsheets for visibility into their utility usage data,” said Neil D’Souza, Vice President of Product Development, thinkstep. “Our partnership provides customers with the ability to feed energy and water metrics in a highly automated manner right into their sustainability management dashboards. Urjanet’s utility data saves time and effort and allows for more powerful performance and cost analysis with up-to-date, high-quality information.”

Recently, thinkstep announced thinkstep.one, a highly scalable enterprise software platform and application center for sustainability performance management. thinkstep.one is currently in beta and will be available in the fall of 2015. The new platform will empower decision-makers to transform their business for sustainable success and achieve breakthrough results. Built on one singular data and analytics foundation that easily connects to other IT-systems, thinkstep.one offers an increasing portfolio of 70 applications together with its large eco-system of partners.

“Sustainability is garnering executive-level attention around the world and is becoming a key component of corporate strategy. This is driving global awareness and increasing demand for an organization’s accurate sustainability performance data, including energy consumption and carbon emissions. thinkstep offers a highly integrated software platform for sustainability and energy management and has built an impressive reputation and client base,” said Gary Brooks, Urjanet’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We look forward to working closely with thinkstep to help global organizations leverage energy and utility data to drive performance improvements and save money.”
